Places: 6

New printmaking classes at The Art Rooms in Saltaire with Brian Hindmarch, artist and tutor of printmaking and Jacky Al-Samarraie, designer and founder of The Art Rooms.

Classes are aimed at adults wanting to explore their creativity and learn something new regardless of previous experience. Participants can work at their own level.

Collagraph:

COLLAGRAPH - Relief prints are usually created from raised surfaces created by cutting into different surfaces such as card, lino, wood, board, textiles, pva, carborundum, etc. These raised textured surfaces can also be created by glueing, fixing and creating textured surfaces. The  ‘printing plate’ is then inked and put under pressure on to paper using a press. It may be inked in a similar manner as an etching or drypoint plate, which is inking in to the surface and wiping off areas of the surface.

‘Impressions’ can be achieved using burnishing tools, barens and brayers (rollers). Images may also be transferred (offset) with a roller.

Jigsaw prints, similar to Collagraphs are cut surfaces to create a composite image. Each piece of the ‘jigsaw’ can be individually inked in different colours, but when all are put together, this will result in a multi-colour print, on the press.

Places available are limited to 6.

Classes need to be booked and paid for in advance.

Classes can be cancelled up to 7 days before the workshop for a full refund. We can't offer refunds after this deadline.
