A new beginners half day workshop with Brian Hindmarch, artist and tutor of printmaking, in conjunction with Jacky Al-Samarraie, designer and founder of The Art Rooms.
This session is aimed at adults wanting to explore their creativity and learn something new. Open to both those with no previous experience and those wanting to develop their basic skills.
Explore some of the techniques below with instruction and guidance to produce finished colour prints.
MONOPRINT is a process in which a drawing or painting, produced on a flat plate which can be transferred using hand pressure on to a sheet of paper, as a ‘one-off’.
MONOTYPE utilises a plate and a press, also producing only one impression.
This process can also produce prints without a press, by incorporating burnishing tools and transfer (offset) using a roller (brayer) on to the paper.
POCHOIR is a stencil process to produce prints using a roller with ink,
or adding colour to an existing illustration or image. This can be incorporated with Monoprints and Monotypes. This could then be described as a ‘HYBRID’ print.
